My name is Sarah Cusack Scholl, and I help parents learn how to fit real food and natural lifestyle choices into their busy lives, to improve their health and the health of their families. My health coaching approach is to gently guide parents in a step-by-step process to change their lives, and achieve their health goals for themselves and their loved ones.
My background: I am a Pediatric Physical Therapist with experience treating patients with Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain injury, and other neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions. As a Physical Therapist I observed and treated children’s physical issues and learned how the sensory and motor systems are integrated, how they work together, and what it can look like when they are not integrated.
In 2009, my younger daughter was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, Celiac disease. Consequently, I learned about the influence of the gut and digestive system on the brain, the immune system, and the physical body as a whole. I observed how nutritional changes could help to relieve physical problems in children, improve cognitive abilities, increase the ability of the sensory system to integrate, and improve focus and behavior.
My training: In 2011, I enrolled in the Health Coaching program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods, to combine my Physical Therapy and Nutrition knowledge to bring better outcomes for children of all diagnoses.
